Role description

We are looking for energetic Senior Account Executives to join our team to generate new business opportunities, and potentially expand our presence within current customers, within districts in selected areas within North America.

You will be responsible for outbound activity, responding to inbound inquiries, working with CSM’s and support teams, to identify and close larger opportunities for Shmoop and our customers. Although you strive to meet and exceed quota, you will always act in the best interest of the states, districts, and schools we work with.

Role Responsibilities

  • Prospect and close new business

  • Successfully align Shmoops offerings to customer goals

  • Meet monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales expectations for net new & expansion targets

  • Coordinating with & sell to educators and administrators at the school, district, & state levels

  • Work with procurement to finalize school and district transactions

  • Identifying and work expansion opportunities with current customers in conjunction with Shmoops customer success team

  • Follow-up with inbound leads and RFPs in a timely manner

  • Constantly drive outbound campaigns and interactions

  • Building and maintaining long lasting customer relationships

  • Accurately forecast

  • Customer account mapping at the state and district levels

  • Successfully follow-up with customers and maintain progress through the sales cycle

  • Consistently document customer interaction, touchpoints, forecast, goals and other initiatives to stay in sync with Shmoop leadership

  • Effectively communicate Shmoops offerings with customers with Powerpoint presentations, demonstrations, and other forms of communication

  • Occasionally attend trade shows and customer events

  • Effectively utilize product marketing material provided

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in EdTech Sales to K-12 districts

  • 7+ years of applicable quota-carrying closing sales experience

  • 3+ years of applicable experience working in or selling at the district, school, or state level

  • Successful history selling yearly based subscription products

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, internal engagements, and customer interactions

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Strong listening skills and have the ability to relate to customer goals and needs

  • Ability to successfully communicate the mission and product offering to potential customers

  • Experience account planning and customer goals alignment

  • Experience working with RFPs

  • Experience working with technology and tools (Salesforce, Zoho, Outreach, edTech tools)

  • Strong negotiation and accurate forecasting skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience selling SaaS solutions or software platform solutions preferably in edTech

  • Worked as an educator or administrator previously (desired / not required)

  • Top performer: performance ratings in top bucket/category at prior employers
