About Us

Service Rentals & Supplies, Inc. is a locally owned and operated family business that has been serving the families and businesses of Hawaii for 50 years, with five stores located on four islands (Maui, Kauai, Oahu, Hawaii island). We offer a wide variety of construction equipment for both homeowners and those in the construction industry.

Role Overview:

Service Rentals & Supplies, Inc. is looking for a full-time Customer Support and Sales Representative to be a part of our team in Hilo, Hawaii. This role involves answering customer calls, assisting with project needs through equipment rental and sales, and providing support to our Customer Service Sales Representatives.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.

Experience:

  • A minimum of two years of customer service and Point of Sale (POS) system experience is required.
  • Experience with our equipment and services is beneficial, but we are willing to provide training.
  • Preferred: Two years of Call Center experience, two years of construction equipment rentals and sales experience, and experience working with the POS system, Alert.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Team player with positive attitude.
  • Excellent customer service skills. Friendly, Professional and Patient.
  • Must be computer literate and willing to learn a wide range of equipment and its basic use.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required to effectively interact with coworkers, managers, customers, and vendors.
  • The ability to work independently, keep manager updated, and problem-solve basic issues is required.
  • Basic math skills and the mental dexterity to recall various product information and match products/services with customer needs is essential.
  • Must be punctual and able to adhere to scheduled work hours.

Requirements:

Responsibilities:

  • Answer customer calls and assist walk-in customers to find the right equipment or part for their needs.
  • Complete reservation requests in Alert with complete and accurate details of customer information and job details.
  • Communicate upcoming reservations with office team members in a clear and efficient manner.
  • Resolve customer issues at a base level and escalate more complex issues to the office team or management.
  • Process payments and close tickets at the end of each rental.
  • Restock supplies and parts in the showroom and perform miscellaneous administrative tasks.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally and frequently bend, stoop, and climb.
  • The job requires 95% indoor work.
