ABOUT THIS POSITION

The HVAC Quality Control/ Quality Assurance Technician is responsible in helping the overall success of the installation department. Reporting directly to the HVAC Quality Control Manager, they will conduct on site Quality Control Inspections of our installation department and ensure all HVAC installs meet ProSkill’s standards, as well as local and national codes. They will act as the first response for warranty service and repair calls, customer service and satisfaction issues. Working hand in hand with both the Installation and Service Teams, they will ensure customers will have worry free operation of their newly installed equipment for years to come.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct quality audit checks on all retrofit and new construction HVAC equipment
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance, service and repair of newly installed residential and light commercial HVAC equipment up to 20 tons
  • Demonstrate respect and compassion when communicating with clients on work performed and on resolving warranty issues and repairs.
  • Document service performed and recommendations made by completing applicable forms, reports, logs, and/or records
  • Complete all tasks in accordance with ProSkill’s service’s quality and safety standards
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities (internal and/or external)
  • Excel within a team environment and willing to support all areas of our business
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools to inspect, repair, and conduct maintenance and diagnosis of air conditioning systems, furnaces, coils, and compressors
  • Fulfill On-call schedule of 1 day per week, 1 weekend per month until 8 pm.

HVAC Quality Assurance Technician QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work with high degree of integrity and promote positive company image
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions
  • Minimum of 6 years of HVAC experience (8+ preferred)
  • A combination of Residential, Commercial HVAC experience (preferred)
  • Experience in Installing HVAC equipment (preferred)
  • Knowledge of current residential and commercial building and mechanical codes
  • Posses strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Possess strong Low-voltage and Refrigerant trouble shooting ability
  • Experience in airflow troubleshooting and ductwork installation.
  • Experience in brazing, and proper closed system procedures.
  • Experience in zoning, ductless, communicating and variable capacity HVAC Equipment
  • General construction and building knowledge (Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrical etc.)
  • EPA Universal Certification
  • Nate Certified (preferred)
  • Valid driver's license, with minimal DMV infractions
  • Basic computer knowledge with MS Office Suite experience
  • Satisfactory passing of mandatory pre-employment drug screen and background check

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Regularly required to work in hot, confined and dark spaces
  • Regularly required to balance and climb over/ around obstacles
  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear
  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move objects 20 -80 lbs.
  • Regularly required to ascend/descend ladders and balance
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk
  • Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus.

GROOMING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Once hired, all employees must maintain a well-groomed appearance (i.e., a business-like haircut, neatly groomed facial hair).
