Job Title: Network Engineer III

Location: Hybrid, 2 days a week THEY WILL TAKE SOMEONE AT 100% REMOTE (New Orleans, LA)

Duration: Full time

Job Summary:

Our client is looking to add a Network Engineer III to their team. In this role you will ensure the stability and integrity of the university's voice, data, and video and wireless network services. This is achieved by planning, designing, and developing those services necessary to support the operation of the network. These services include but are not limited to Routers, Switches, and Firewalls. In addition, the Network Engineer III will participate with the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support and optimization of all network hardware and software which provide these services. This individual will also analyze and resolve network hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion and provide end user training where required.

  • Strong, hands-on technical knowledge of operating systems, including Windows 7 and 8, Mac OS X, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (or CentOS).

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Able to conduct research into networking issues and products as required.
  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology.
  • 10 or more years' experience as a Palo Alto engineer, to include experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Proven track record of IPv6 deployment in an enterprise setting.
  • Proven experience with design of large-scale enterprise scale networks utilizing dynamic routing protocols including OSPFv2, OSPFv3, and BGP4.
  • Proven experience and success with design, implementation, and maintenance of firewall infrastructure in a distributed enterprise environment.
  • Proven experience and success with design, implementation, and maintenance of SIEM (for example, Q1 Labs QRadar) infrastructure in a distributed enterprise environment.
  • Proven experience and success with design, implementation, and maintenance of IPsecand SSL VPN infrastructure in a distributed enterprise environment.

  • Juniper Networks Enterprise Routing and Switching, Expert (JNCIE-ENT)
  • Juniper Networks Certified Internet
  • Juniper Networks Certified Internet Specialist FWV (JNCIS-FWV)
  • Red HatLinux Certified Engineer (RHCE)
