Position Description

Serco will provide support in the area of acquisitions management to its customer, a defense acquisition program management office which is responsible for the development, acquisition, production, fielding, and lifetime support of critical Navy systems. This position will help you hone your skills in supply support, maintenance planning, technical data management, training support, and other related defense acquisition logistics skills in a professional office environment.

This position is contingent upon residence in the National Capitol Region (NCR). This position is also contingent upon your ability to maintain and transfer your Secret Level Clearance post-employment.

In this role you will:
  • Research written defense acquisition logistics management instructions and processes and apply what you have learned to solve problems and complete tasking.
  • Work in a collaborative, professional environment together with staff from the program office, other contractors, system developer/manufacturer, and the government/industry acquisions support team. Work under the guidance and mentorship of an experienced supervisor.
  • Conduct program office tasking related to supporting Naval systems. This support could be in areas such as supply chain management, technical data, maintenance management, property management, training support, configuration management, etc.
  • Assist with the management of plans and schedules related to acquisitions support. Support the government and contractor team in performing tasks such as arranging and participating in meetings or program reviews including preparing meeting agendas/minutes/actions, preparing presentations, developing spreadsheets, tracking action items, and assisting with collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work in a collaborative, professional environment together with staff from the program office, other contractors, system developer/manufacturer, and the government/industry integrated logistics support team. Work under the guidance and mentorship of an experienced supervisor.
  • Assist in collecting, displaying, and interpreting program acquisitions-related data/metrics.
  • Gain additional responsibility and independent tasking as you grow in knowledge and experience.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • A current or active DoD Secret security clearance.
  • A Bachelor's degree.
  • 2-4 years of experience.
  • Experience with pre-award support to include RFP development, acquisition strategy and planning, and good writting/editing skills.
  • The ability to develop an understanding of the principles of integrated logistics support (ILS) and work in a team in applying your energy and enthusiasm to assigned programs throughout their life cycles.
  • The ability to research written defense acquisition logistics management instructions and processes and apply what you have learned to solve problems and complete tasking.
  • The ability to conduct program office tasking related to supporting Naval systems. This support could be in areas such as supply chain management, technical data, maintenance management, property management, training support, configuration management, etc.
  • The ability to assist with the management of plans and schedules related to acquisitions/logistics support. Support the government and contractor team in performing tasks such as arranging and participating in meetings or program reviews including preparing meeting agendas/minutes/actions, preparing presentations, developing spreadsheets, tracking action items, and assisting with collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • The ability to assist in collecting, displaying, and interpreting program logistics-related data/metrics.
  • The ability to travel at least 10% of the time.
