Head of FP&A

Selecta Biosciences is leveraging its ImmTOR® platform to bring hope to the over 24 million Americans suffering from autoimmune disease daily. ImmTOR and ImmTOR-IL (our next generation immunotherapy platform) have the potential to restore the body's natural self-tolerance in autoimmune diseases, amplify the efficacy of biologic therapies and unlock the true potential of life-saving gene therapies.

To support our ambitious pursuits, we are looking for a finance leader with drug development experience who will architect Selecta's financial planning and analysis function, who can partner and influence in a matrix organization to drive achievement in support of our financial, operational, business development, and commercial goals. You are mastering the art of combining an entrepreneurial approach with a collaborative delivery.

Principal Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Own the annual budgeting process, work closely with department heads, HR, and Finance to drive enterprise level financial, headcount and strategic planning
  • Own the forecasting process: manage financial forecasts and the semi-annual reforecasting
  • Support our clinical teams in clinical trial budgeting and cost tracking for partnered programs
  • Partner with CFO to develop financial analyses and board level presentations
  • Partner with the accounting team on month-end close processes and budget to actual reporting
  • Build and manage relationships in support of some of our most important business functions such as clinical and business development
  • Build and develop direct report(s)

Desired Experience and Capabilities

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or MBA preferred
  • 7+ years of relevant FP&A experience in a high growth environment
  • Ability to build strong relationships and influence technical, business, and operational decisions
  • An impressive level of proficiency with financial planning, systems, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling, Netsuite, Planful or others
  • Experience implementing financial planning systems; having demonstrated the ability to lead people and technical aspects of change management
  • Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional projects to successful completion
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a history of strong business judgement
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, and attention to detail
  • Ability to efficiently organize information, analyze and present data with clarity and impact

Work Environment

The function of the role and where the day-to-day completion of the related tasks take place is flexible. Successful applicants will be able to function throughout the office environment and remotely. Responsibilities include a work schedule that can require working outside of "normal" work hours, to meet business demands.
