SEGULA TECHNOLOGIES is assisting a major automotive OEM in hiring a Project Manager - Engineering to join our growing team in Allentown, PA.

This is a DIRECT hire opportunity, NOT a Contractual role.

Job Description

The main purpose of this position is for the PME is to lead the product development work for the complete product scope (Vehicle Architecture, Cab, Chassis, Vehicle Dynamics, Electrical/Electronics, Product Builds and Product Design). This position is accountable to coordinate engineering activity for the project across all engineering support areas The PME will also report activities to the Chief Program Manager or the Contract Program Manager (government contracts) in the project dimension and thus represents the engineering functions in the Project Management Team (PMT).

Core responsibilities
  • Manage the project deliverables as defined by the project management process. Manage the total engineering project cost.
  • This includes internal and external development cost for the complete product scope.
  • Manage product cost to ensure that the consolidated product cost from all support areas is within the total product cost frame.
  • Create and manage the engineering project time plan covering all activities needed to ensure a fully verified and validated product including functions (HW/SW).
  • Drive and take part in the work to define the product scope in close cooperation with the Sales team, the Contracts Management team, the engineering teams.
  • Drive and take part in developing the requirement specification to ensure that the requirements are understood and accepted.
  • Manage vehicle architecture including extended vehicle considering:
  • Platform objectives (e.g., A-interfaces).
  • Technical strategies and Product System Roadmaps (PSR).
  • Technical dependencies from related projects in the portfolio.
  • Manage the development of technical concepts Manage geometry and functional architecture for complete vehicle.
  • Identify, plan, and carry out needed physical builds and test objects utilizing decided internal and external support areas.
  • Identify, plan, and carry out needed verification and validation activities including vehicle certification utilizing decided internal and external support areas.

  • BSc in Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical MSc or MBA desired.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from Project Management Institute (PMI) or corresponding project management certification is desired.

Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in product design and development of class 8 trucks, military vehicles, or heavy equipment.
  • Minimum of 5 years developing vehicle electronics and software Experience with design and development of drivetrain, suspension, and steering.
  • Experience with vehicle electrification or hybrids Experience with autonomous vehicles or systems.
  • Experience in vehicle cyber security Minimum of 10 years project management experience in product development.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience using formal project management processes and tools US citizen or green card holder.
