Purpose of Position: Support the design, assembly and testing of Engineering Projects

Essential Functions: (must be able to perform these functions, with or without a reasonable accommodation).

  • Develops concepts for entry level engineering projects including developing complete designs utilizing 3D modeling software.
  • Solves basic technical problems and develops solutions to those problems.
  • Performs troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance on industrial equipment.
  • Responsible for reading and understanding programming language on electronic equipment and creating programs for additional capabilities.
  • Plans and executes small Engineering projects. This includes but is not limited to basic design, scheduling machine or welding work and ordering parts.
  • Assists the shop floor with technical questions or root-cause analysis that may be required with the assistance of an Engineer.
  • Works when scheduled and complies with the company attendance policy.
  • Observes and practices all safety procedures and personnel policies.
  • Attends all safety and health training, as required, in a timely manner.
  • Confers with manager/lead to recommend changes such as: equipment utilization, production methods and procedures to increase efficiency of department and promote improvement.
  • Attends all safety and health training, as required, in a timely manner.
  • Works overtime as needed.
  • Observes and practices all safety procedures and personal policies (e.g. Safety-glasses, ear plugs, face shields etc.)
  • Performs other duties as required.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: (these are required to enable job holder to perform the essential functions of the job)

  • Must be able to read and understand programming language
  • Must be able to identify and resolve basic technical issues
  • Must have intermediate Microsoft computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) including utilizing 3D modeling software.
  • Must use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of a variety of solutions, conclusions, or approaches to a problem.
  • Must be able to maintain an effective working relationship with, and among co-workers and supervisors.
  • Must be able to work with little or no supervision and to take initiative.
  • Must be able to effectively read, write and communicate in English.
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using fractions and decimals.
  • Must be able to demonstrate organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 25 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Must be able to see within normal range of vision with or without corrective lenses.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time while using hands, wrists, and fingers repetitively on a computer keyboard.
  • Must be able to walk around the facility regularly throughout the day.
  • Must be able to comply with OSHA requirements and standards to properly wear all applicable PPE.
  • Ability to provide verifications of US citizenship or permanent residency to satisfy ITAR/EAR restrictions.

Marginal Functions: (Duties that are likely to be assigned to this person, unless he/she proves unable to perform them after receiving training and/or accommodations that the company judges appropriate)

Experience and Education Requirements:

One of the three listed criteria is required for this position: Must be at least 18 years or older with a High School Diploma or GED and one (1) year of applicable experience or 2 years of Engineering school or an Associate’s degree in Engineering. Experience working in a manufacturing environment and a 4-year Engineering degree preferred. Must pass pre-screening including criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen.

Work Conditions: Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration. Noise is generally loud.
