Job Description
International not-for-profit organization is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join its Grants Department, this position is vacant due to business expansion. Funding sources include various US government agencies, such as USAID, foreign government embassies and aid agencies, foundations, and more. Overall revenue is approximately $150M. The Senior Financial Analyst will serve as the key liaison for overall project/grant financial administration and management. This is a contract position with duration of two to three months.
Responsibilities:
- Review grant proposal budgets, grant agreements, and modifications for compliance with Company policies and donor regulations
- Prepare financial reports and cash drawdowns to donors, review monthly reports of grant expenses to ensure adherence to budget, review closeout files for approval
- Assist in negotiations and communications with donors on grant terms
- Work closely with program staff regarding financial management of their country programs
- Assist Grant Manager with preparation of audit schedules and reports for Board of Directors
- Collaborate closely with the other units of Accounting, such as General Accounting, and International Accounting and Subgrants
- Provide training to program staff on grant financial management issues such as effective budgeting, preparing expenditure forecasts, cost allocations and reading and analyzing monthly reports of grant expenses
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to read, analyze, and interpret donor and federal regulations such as the Uniform Administrative Requirements (UAR), formerly OMB Circulars A-110, A-122 and A-133, as they relate to the financial administration of grants and cooperative agreements
- Ability to analyze budgets, define problems, and draw valid conclusions
- BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field, and 5 years relevant experience. Additional years of relevant work experience may be substituted for educational requirement on a one-for-one basis
- International nonprofit experience is highly preferred
