Job Description

About this position

SeeScan is looking for a Financial Analyst to help guide our strategic business decision-making. In this position, you will identify opportunities, evaluate outcomes, and make recommendations based on the company’s financial data.

We are a dynamic engineering and manufacturing company, and to succeed in this role you will need an exceptional level of ethics, integrity, and independent judgment.

Our company culture

Working at SeeScan is unlike working for other companies of our size. While we have the stability of a larger company—we’ve been in business for nearly 40 years and sell our products worldwide—the SeeScan environment feels like a smaller, tight-knit community. Absent of typical corporate culture, we care more about what you do than what you are called, and we want you to share our mission of constantly improving the way we do things. We’ll give you the tools and resources you need to succeed, and we want you to show us how it’s done!

What we’re looking for

Across our organization, we’re looking for people who want to solve big challenges to make the world a better place. Whether you’re designing the latest tech, building our products on the production floor, or keeping our business running and profitable, we want people who approach problems with a can-do attitude and who are eager to be part of a team.

Our goal is to create the best products in our industries and continue our trend of sustainable growth – not to line shareholders’ pockets. That means we’re interested in hiring people who are eager to work somewhere long-term and who share our values of continuous learning, community, and fairness.

In this position, you will

  • Prepare and update current year forecast periodically, advise of variances to actual, and research accounts to determine basis for forecast adjustments
  • Monitor and review monthly sales & margin reporting by major customer accounts and product lines
  • Calculate metrics and KPIs, and introduce additional metrics to assist management in decision making and support continued growth
  • Perform financial analyses including trend analysis, what-if scenarios, and risk analysis
  • Collaborate with a wide variety of department leaders across multiple functions
  • Integrate data from Microsoft Dynamics AX with business intelligence tool Microsoft Power BI to optimize the maintenance process
  • Implement process improvements to streamline reporting and improve insights
  • Organize and prioritize deliverables to meet key deadlines amongst competing requests
  • Bring a can-do attitude to tackling complex or ambiguous tasks that may require creative solutions

About you

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel to perform financial modeling and ad hoc analysis
  • Experience with Tier 1 ERP system and BI tools with the ability to learn new systems quickly
    • Specific experience using Microsoft Dynamics AX and Power BI is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical ability, and organization skills
  • Ability to analyze, present, and communicate data clearly
  • Project team leader and/or supervisory experience preferred
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team

Desired education and experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 5+ years of experience in an analytical or financial role
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing company
  • Cost accounting experience is a plus

We offer

  • A position within an established company, growing from humble beginnings in our founder’s garage to a team of over 300
  • A culture of transparency, growth, and innovation – read more about it below!
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Traditional and Roth 401(k) investment options
  • Flexible Paid Time Off plan with no cap or “use it or lose it” requirement

If this position is of interest, please apply online at https://careers.seescan.com/position/949 with your resume and a thoughtful cover letter explaining why you are the ideal candidate for this position. We are looking for a long-term, in-house team member to join us, not a contractor or consultant.

This is a remote position initially with the possibility of transitioning onsite in the future. Candidates living in the San Diego area are preferred.
