About the Position: You are the expert…The Remote Account Manager teammate is responsible for applying a comprehensive approach to customer service delivered with effective and purposeful communication, demonstrated by effectively managing and completing project work and bids through quoting, selling, following up, troubleshooting customer problems and providing support from inception to resolution and communicating feedback from the customers to the Branch/Sales Manager and Vice President.

Education and Experience: The successful candidate must possess an associate degree or equivalent from a two year college or technical school, have 2 to 4 years of related specific industry work experience, and fully understand the Plumbing and HVAC supply business.

Sales Ability:

  • Sells & promotes the items and products in stock - provides alternative suggestions to customers who request other products, and successfully converts initial customer requests to stock brands
  • Completes bid and project work
  • Prioritizes & promotes product and sales promotions
  • Assists at Trades Counter and takes Counter Calls as needed to ensure timely customer service
  • Articulates how THE COMPANY differentiates from direct and indirect competition.
  • Adds value to customer and internal interactions by understanding the market, customers, suppliers, and competitors.
  • Articulates product feature and functions
  • Expands product knowledge base through industry and vendor training (ASA, Vendor/Manufacturer trainings)
  • Attends all Department L-10s weekly/quarterly/annually
  • Analyzes customer’s needs quickly to determine if they need to be passed to a technical expert
  • Solves customer needs by recommending products or services that contribute to their level of satisfaction
  • Actively upsells customers on ancillary products beyond the original order
  • Expands immediate problem-resolution network to include ancillary network contacts and uses internal resources (internet, industry marketing, customer service, supply chain, etc.) to get things done
  • Follows-through on commitments made to customers
  • Utilizes and tracks sales performance and customer data using Internal Pipeline, KPIs, and Dashboards
