*This role is a part-time, remote within the US or US East Coast-based position in a distributed team/office structure. The Opportunity We are looking for a part-time Community Management Specialist to support our Technology Programs Team in the implementation of open innovation programs such as the NASA International Space Apps Challenge (NASA Space Apps). NASA Space Apps is an international hackathon for coders, scientists, designers, storytellers, makers, technologists, and others in cities around the world, where teams engage NASA's free and open data to address real-world problems on Earth and in space. For one weekend each October, participants from around the world come together over a 48-hour period to solve challenges submitted by NASA personnel.

After the hackathon, project submissions are judged by space agency experts and winners are selected for one of 10 Global Awards. The Community Management Specialist will support open innovation communities such as the Space Apps Community by engaging members and facilitating external trainingtrainings of mentors and local event leads among other activities. The Community Management Specialist will work with a global community of over 400 key stakeholders as well as support other workstreams of the program, including but not limited to communication, judging process and collaborator engagement.

Essential Functions Support the implementation of open innovation programs through community engagement, including but not limited to: Creation and coordination of meeting prep, agendas, and relevant follow-up notes/materials Support in ensuring that key milestones and expectations outlined within existing community engagement deliverables are met with the client Utilize company wide best practices. Capture program learnings and participate in sharing learnings across program teams and the broader company Support facilitation and coordination with open innovation program communities through 1-1 meetings, a Slack workspace and emails Prepare externally-facing documentation to support community engagement activities Build frameworks, guidelines and templates for processes Facilitate workshops and trainings (avg. 200 people) Outreach to external collaborator organizations Coordinate and collaborate with teammates across the program's workstreams Establish systems and processes for relationship building based on the synthesis of previous learnings Requirements Experience facilitating large scale workshops online Comfortable on camera (i.e.
