Job Description

Position Summary

Seattle Bank is seeking an experienced Business and Reporting Analyst to join our Information Technology (IT) team. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing business operations and data to identify trends, create reports, make recommendations, and build out process automation improvements. The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of experience in banking and finance with direct interaction and experience in core banking platforms, Microsoft SQL/Azure, and PowerBI.

 

Essential Duties

  • Create reports on financial performance, budget variances, and other key metrics.
  • Build automation and streamline processes through the use of workflow, scripting, API’s and other technology products/tools.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements for new initiatives.
  • Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes that could impact the company's reporting infrastructure.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Support ad-hoc analysis and reporting as needed.
  • Gather, review, and analyze business and industry data, including KPIs, financial reports and other key metrics using data analytics tools.
  • Assess options for process improvement, including business process modeling.
  • Maintain documentation regarding various projects, processes, and operations.
  • Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional teams.
  • Assist with change management process improvement projects.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and influence key stakeholders to support proposed strategies, process improvements and operational decisions.
  • Produce functional designs for tools used in the applicable group.
  • Identify automation opportunities.
  • Analyze process issues and bottlenecks to make improvements.
  • Monitor and evaluate performance of implemented solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in banking and finance. Prefer hands on core banking platform experience, SSRS, PowerBI, and MS SQL query language.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial modeling.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to present findings to senior management.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Resourcefulness and ability to devise creative solutions to problems.
  • Experience testing and mapping various business processes and protocols.
  • Familiarity with industry technology systems to gather data and problem solve.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
