Our client delivers crop insurance that provides a level of security to farmers and ranchers, who operate at the mercy of the weather and markets. Unlike many corporate insurance conglomerates, our client does not divert capital or expertise by entering other lines of insurance. They only write crop insurance. This unique position in the industry has allowed us to anticipate and meet the needs of our agents and farmers as the premier provider of crop insurance products and services within selected markets.

Job Description:

Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Solutions Architect to join our team. Reporting to the Enterprise Architecture Manager, you will work with business leaders in a technical capacity to identify and address their critical needs and challenges. As Solutions Architect, you will play an important role in helping to define requirements for solutions including services, products, technologies, and capabilities that may require hardware, software, networking, cloud architectures, communications, or other specialized knowledge to design, develop, and support the business needs.

• Develop, maintain, and improve architectures, including reference/target architectures, principles, roadmaps, patterns, etc.
• Review new projects and architecture solutions, ensuring they are aligned with the enterprise architecture.
• Undertake coding of POCs (proof of concepts) to carry out and communicate our direction of technology and standards to the organization.
• Create technical design documents and supporting materials.
• Develop an understanding of business processes, data flows, strategy, and long-term thinking to come up with an end-state architecture.
• Stay current with emerging business and technology trends.
• Within the first 90 days, help drive key decisions about our technology direction.

Position Requirements:

• At least a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or a related field, or the equivalent education and/or experience.
• 8 years relevant and progressive professional experience encompassing the following
• Developing .NET technology solutions (other languages acceptable), developing hosted web-based software solutions, experience with SQL Server or Oracle database technologies, and experience with AWS or Azure Cloud Platforms
• Experience in software testing methodologies, tools, and technologies such as Microsoft applications, SQL, modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, Vue) and some form of cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with software architectural designs (n-Tier, Microservice, etc.)
• Experience with application communication protocols (HTTP, TCP, RPC, REST, MQ).
• An exceptional communicator, with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy.
