Quality Control Inspector I

Core days/hours: Monday - Friday2nd Shiftcore hours 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM (overtime required as needed)Typical shift: 3:00 PM - 2:30 AM


QC Inspector Responsibilities:
+ Actively participate in the departmental and company 6S process. Work areas and inspection equipment to be kept clean, neat, and orderly at all times.
+ Verify stampings and markings conform to shop order requirements.
+ Review shop order and production drawings to determine appropriate inspection technique and inspection parameters.
+ Prepare print of non-conforming material indicating a description and location of non-conformance.
+ Prepare request for deviation and non-conformance reports for material out of specifications. Distribute as required to Sales and non-complying departments
+ Measure in-process and final product dimensions against shop orders and drawings. Verify diameters and lengths against specifications using various hand, mechanical, or electronic measuring instruments.
+ Input all test results and final inspection results into computer. Sign shop order to confirm inspection and test operations have been completed.
+ Verify all operations specified on the shop order have been completed and signed.
+ Inspect and evaluate products on customer premises or at Scot Forge for customers or customer's representatives.
+ Provide layout instructions on shop prints based upon required sizes/lengths.
+ Prepare any required inspection records/documentation including dimensional reports and customer provided documentation of inspection.
+ Participation in required documented procedure training as required by position and or assignment of supervisor.
QC Inspector Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required
Minimum one year CMM Programming and Operation preferred
Knowledge in Metrology preferred
Knowledge in GD&T preferred


Scot Forge Certification Required for this position - will provide on-the-job training:
+ Niton Certification
+ Brinell Certification(s)
+ Final Inspection Certification
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
Lifting requirements: 65 lbs
Working conditions with exposure to dirt, heat, inclement weather
Significant amount of bending and squatting required.
