James Beard award-winning chef Paul Berglund is looking for a general manager to help open and lead his new Grand Rapids area restaurant. Berglund’s new restaurant will be driven and inspired by the seasons and the food grown by our West Michigan farmers. This will be a gathering place, instilled with a casual sophistication and warm Midwestern hospitality. Above all, it will be focused on the crafts of food, drink, and hospitality.

What you’ll do:
The General Manager is responsible for ensuring excellence in the operations of the restaurant. This includes:
Partnering with the chef/owner and the chef to establish and maintain a strong culture guided by the Purpose and Principles of the business.
Building a team that provides professional hospitality and service to every guest, every day.
Developing and maintaining a best-in-class beverage program, with equal focus on high-quality wine, beer, spirits, cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages.Working closely with the Chef and BOH team to develop, implement, and maintain fluid, guest-focused processes and procedures.
Partnering with the chef/owner and the chef to set, meet, and exceed the goals of the business.
Partnering with our accounting team to develop and maintain thorough and consistent operational accounting processes.
Overseeing HR and other administrative functions of the business.
What we need from you:
A minimum of 4 years of progressive management experience in high-volume restaurants.
A minimum of 2 years of experience managing budgets and P&Ls.
A strong, respectful leadership style.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word).
What you’ll get from us:
Base salary of $65,000 to $85,000
