Scion Nonprofit Staffing (www.scionnonprofitstaffing.com) has been engaged to conduct the search for a full-time HR Generalist for our client a nonprofit organization whose mission is to support those in our community who are experiencing homelessness. This position is a full-time, remote opportunity and they are looking for someone to start immediately! The position is currently remote, but they are targeting candidates who are based in Los Angeles, CA or San Francisco, CA as they will return to the office on a hybrid model in 2022. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following: RESPONSIBILITIES The Sr. Human Resources (HR) Generalist will be responsible for assisting in several functions pertaining to our employees’ development, including Managing the administrative functions related to safety and compliance Some key functions for this position include Establish, implement and maintain an effective injury and illness prevention program (IIPP). Train employees. Inspect workplaces to identify and correct unsafe and hazardous conditions. Establish or update operating procedures and communicate those procedures to employees. Provide training when required by Cal/OSHA standards. Immediately report any serious injury, illness or death of an employee, occurring in a place of employment or in connection with employment. Keep records of work-related injuries and illnesses, unless exempted by the regulations. Post, in a prominent location within the workplace, the Cal/OSHA poster, informing employees of their rights and responsibilities. Prevent discrimination against employees who exercise their rights under Cal/OSHA. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field 3+ years of experience as an HR Coordinator or HR Generalist with a focus on safety and compliance Strong knowledge and understanding of human resources functions and best practices Superb computer literacy with capability in Microsoft Office, and experience with multiple HRIS software (they currently use PayCom, experience with Kronos or Workday also helpful) Strong knowledge of safety policies, procedures, and best practices Fluency with standard technology and software, including databases, and the capacity to quickly master new technology Effective communication both written and verbal with colleagues in a diverse, people-centered work environment Ability to resolve problems, handle conflict and make effective decisions under pressure Excellent customer service, sales, and relationship-building skills Strong ability to work independently as well as on a team A strong work ethic motivated by results Reliable with respect to confidentiality Outstanding organizational and time-management skills COMPENSATION & CAREER BENEFITS This exciting role provides an opportunity to support an organization that has a long history in California.
