Overview: We are seeking a team-oriented, level Research Associate II to join the viral vector core to support process development of novel cell and gene therapies. A successful candidate will be able to generate multiple viral vector preparations, design and execute experiments, and work collaboratively to construct solutions to development roadblocks. The Research Associate will have direct impact on the development of novel cell lines for vector production, and should come with hands on experience with transformation and single-cell isolation. About You: You hold a Bachelors degree within a scientific field, ideally cell biology, immunology, or biotechnology. You have 2+ years’ experience in a wet laboratory setting, preferably working with viral vectors. You come with hands on experience working with clonal generation and isolation techniques. You succeed working in a teamwork-oriented environment and love collaboration. You’re a team player. You have a track record of engaging, and working closely, with cross-functional teams to keep projects moving forward as smoothly as possible. You are a self-starter and eager to take on new projects. What You’ll Do: Collaborate with Scientists to develop novel stable cell lines to support cell and gene therapy. Maintain adherent cell lines and cell line banking. Analyze clonal cell populations for mammalian gene expression. Communicate design ideas and translate relevant information into process improvements. Work with the viral vector team to develop a process for larger scale virus production for pre-clinical development. Perform routine cell culture maintenance, cell counting, as well as media and buffer formulation. Routinely enter data into electronic lab notebook system and worksheets. Maintain lab inventory and cleanliness.
