Production Supervisor

Summary:

Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in mixing by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities:

·         Coordinates and schedules room set- up weekly, making adjustments during the week for material and or priority changes.

·         Communicates and coordinates needs to Scheduler for best efficiencies and schedule compliance.

·         Attends operations meeting and provides updates and feedback pertaining to mixing department.

·         Interprets job orders to staff and assigns duties.

·         Monitors schedule progress while adjusting work to meet requirements.

·         Ensures department leads follow through with assignments and tasks assigned to staff.

·         Provides training or reinforcement where required for policy correction and corrective actions.

·         Inspects room and works for safety, quality and company policy adherence.  *

·         Suggests changes to manager in work flow or practices to obtain best practices and efficiencies.

·         Understands departments SOPs and procedures ensuring compliance.

·         Supervises material handlers for mixing department.

·         Participates and supports new product testing/development.

General

·         Participates in year-end inventory as required.

·         Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.

·         Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.

·         Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.

·         Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.

·         Communicates with QC Manager regarding all quality issues.

·         Actively promotes the involvement and commitment of all employees to food safety and quality.

·         Actively participates in food safety meetings and is a HACCP team member.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

·         Directly supervises mixing specialists, mixing material handlers and mixing expeditors in the Mixing Departments. 

·         Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. 

·         Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience:   

·         Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

·         Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 

·         Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 

·         Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of organization. 

·         Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 

·         Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook (e-mail, tasks, calendar); M2M; Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet software and Microsoft Word.
