Senior Electrical Engineer

Science Systems and Applications, Inc. (SSAI) is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to provide LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) development engineering support and support design and testing of new spaceflight instrumentation and power electronics. This position will support development, integration and testing for the LiDAR system. This includes building and maintaining the test station, configuring the test equipment, building test fixtures, and writing the plan to automate testing. In addition, this effort includes building the ground support equipment hardware and software to integrate and perform LiDAR validation testing.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or similar, and 10+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience delivering electronics box-level subsystems to spacecraft, including experience with instruments with optical components and lasers.
• US Citizenship is required.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience with Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) engineering practices.
• Familiarity with NASA GSFC policies, workmanship standards and guidelines.
• Experience with software such as Altium and Mentor Graphics (PADS), or similar.
