In this role you will be creating firmware for SEL's flagship revenue and power quality meter. You will have the ability to work with multi-functional teams, and create innovative solutions that enhance? the world's critical power infrastructure.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Lead the specification, design, implementation, and test of firmware/software systems.
2. Understand hardware and firmware interactions, and collaborate with Hardware Engineers.
3. Lead the development of requirements, designs, tests, firmware and documentation.
4. Mentor Engineers, Associate Engineers, and Technicians.
5. Serve as a technical contact for internal customers.
6. Model, teach, and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
7. Understand. Create. Simplify.
8. Other duties as assigned.
B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
Typically 6+ years experience in one or more of the following areas:
-- Embedded systems firmware development
-- real-time firmware design
-- C, C++ and assembly
-- object oriented design
-- object oriented languages (C++, C#)
-- Embedded Linux systems development
-- Scripting languages
Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment

This position is located in Boise, ID, capital of the gem state, and on the Boise River in the southwestern part of the state.
