This is primarily an outside sales position responsible for driving new business sales revenue growth of commercial business clients. In addition to cross-selling referrals from current agency clientele, this role is expected to expand current clientele via qualified prospects.

Responsibilities
Grow new business base through a range of networking and sales tactics, including cold calling and prospecting for potential customers to effectively articulate the companys competitive advantage and new products
Generate sufficient new business leads and first appointment activity volume while demonstrating the ability to identify and overcome sales obstacles.
3-5 years of experience in insurance brokerage, carrier, or related business-to-business sales experience, including calling on senior executives and a track record of financial success.
Gather all of the necessary information to evaluate the commercial insurance needs against available insurance products for each client, and negotiate the terms and conditions with key stakeholders
Pursue cross-selling opportunities within the Agency (Property/Casualty, Surety, Employee Benefits, Personal Insurance) to meet revenue growth targets.
Develop and present risk management assessments to advise clients on ways to minimize and avoid claims
Remain educated on all insurance coverage provisions, the overall insurance industry, regulations, and pertinent legislation to ensure customers understand their coverage terms and insurance services in the process
Deliver a high level of personal attention to prospective and existing customers, personally visiting them to follow up as needed, and provide coaching management on commercial insurance policy options upon request
Develop insurance quotes, make sales presentations, and close sales.

Requirements
- State-issued, valid insurance license(s) Preferred: Property and Casualty Insurance License
- Proven working experience in customer service in an office setting
- Bachelors degree in mathematics, statistics, sales, marketing, or other related fields - a high school diploma is required
- Previous experience in the insurance industry as an insurance producer for commercial lines is preferred but not required
- A thorough understanding of all insurance company policies and insurance coverage offerings, including their costs and benefits.
- Sound knowledge or eagerness to learn the intricacies of working procedures within commercial enterprises to best advise clients on relevant policies.
- Computer proficiency is required, including Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Power Point and Excel
- Excellent research, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills are preferred.
- Proven ability to work with goals
- Must have a positive attitude and always put the customer first
