Head Riding Instructor / Trainer - Help us grow riding in the area!

Position Summary

Chagrin Valley Farms is seeking an enthusiastic riding instructor (aka coach, mentor, trainer), who loves teaching, to help us develop competitive hunter/jumper riders who win in life and the ring with our camps, lesson, and leasing programs. We have 30 school horses, an established clientele, and a large waitlist. Plus, we have onsite schooling and rated horse shows year-round.

The primary responsibilities for this role are to evolve our curriculum for riding and horsemanship, teach students with the goal of showing, oversee our assistant instructors, compete at our shows, buy/sell horses, and lead our recruitment efforts targeted at prospective riders and their parents.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

• Experienced trainer and instructor with a resume of successful students competing at elite levels
• Collaborative, natural leader with exceptional interpersonal and horsemanship skills
• Familiarity with a variety of disciplines including hunter/jumper, dressage, horse trials, etc.
• Experienced in barn management
• Microsoft Office proficient

Compensation and Benefits

• Base starting salary of $65K plus performance-based bonuses and commissions

Chagrin Valley Farms (CVF) is northeast Ohio's premier Equestrian facility, offering lessons, boarding, a leasing program, and an extensive array of shows throughout the year. We are a team of horse enthusiasts dedicated to the care, appreciation, and growth of the equestrian industry.

Located on 85 acres in Bainbridge Township, Ohio, the farm has two heated indoor riding arenas, 70+ permanent stalls, and over 200 new temporary stalls for horse shows. The farm also has four outdoor rings, including a newly renovated 200x400 jumper ring, a cross-country course, pastures, and trails. Our indoor and outdoor show rings feature SRS footing by Footing First. Competitors can enjoy top-level USEF Rated shows which attract riders from the region, Schooling shows, Dressage shows, Academy shows, and Mini Trials.
