PURPOSE OF THE ROLE The Marketing Communications (MarCom) Manager oversees advertising and communications activities to drive Scapa Healthcare Business Unit (SHCBU) growth. The Marketing Communications Manager will work closely with the Business Unit Leadership team to help shape the global brand for Scapa Healthcare. The Marketing Communications Manager is responsible for developing, executing, and optimizing plans for products/solutions and initiatives which optimize a promotional mix across advertising, publicity, tradeshows, sales tools, collateral, direct marketing, and electronic marketing to deliver results across multiple geographies.
Provide communications expertise, participate in the Marketing annual planning process, and will be responsible for closely managing project budgets and ROI in alignment with strategic goals and priorities. Particular focus on developing and maintaining all internal and external SHCBU communications platforms targeting key customer and market-focused channels. This role works closely with Commercial, Operations and New Product Development teams to help prioritize projects within the assigned product lines, optimize marketing strategies, and measure the effectiveness of implemented programs.
This role reports to the Director of Strategic Marketing. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Develop, execute and monitor strategic integrated marketing communications plans that deliver on business plan and marketing objectives. Creates communications programs that effectively describe and promote the organization and its products including graphics, product collateral, videos, logos, or other promotional products. Drive planning efforts and oversee the execution of marketing communications plan through to completion. Ensure all programs include meaningful metrics to evaluate communication effectiveness. Develop corporate communications liaising with other departments and the Executive and Management Team. Manage marketing budget and project budgets and ROI in alignment with strategic goals and priorities. In conjunction with the IT team, create, adapt, improve and optimize web communication for SEO and organic and keyword search Manage the Scapa Healthcare Business Unit branding Develop & maintain social media profiles and quality content on LinkedIn and other social media platforms. Plan, create, and produce marketing, advertising, sales promotions, and digital tools to support brand strategies and marketing objectives. Develop content for media outlets to support and expand our digital presence. Recruitment and maintenance of media partnerships and lead vendor selection for printed and digital campaigns. Manage internal and external agency relationships to ensure timely completion of projects and appropriate spending. Assist in the preparation and drafting of various communications (email, social media, commercial and corporate presentations, and investor reports). Drive the development of product promotion plans in collaboration with marketing and sales teams. Manage and coordinate exhibitions at trade shows, conferences, and virtual events. Prepare materials for the sales force and evaluate and modify the promotion or advertising programs to effectively support organizational goals. Collaborate closely with corporate communications and HR team, to drive strategy and content across a combination of internal events, employees’ communications, and initiatives. EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Business. MBA preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience in Marketing and Product. REQUIRED SKILLS: Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite Hands-on experience with inbound marketing systems, and familiarity with marketing automation practices Understanding of the Medical Device Industry Ability to forge relationships with media outlets. Excellent project and deadline management skills Strong working knowledge of HTML, Email Campaign Systems, and Social Media Marketing. Highly motivated, quick-learner, self-starter Excellent interpersonal and communication skill Creative approach and open to new marketing ideas, tools and processes Copywriting and copyediting Development of internal and customer focused training tools Ability to develop professional and working relationships with senior management, commercial (segment) leaders, product managers, operations, NPD and other support departments Knowledge in the latest in digital and social media technology and channels and how to best leverage for marketing programs as part of an overall business to business strategy Management of corporate communications in an international environment WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS The job is performed indoors in a traditional office setting.
