Hiring For Part time/weekends only

Mary's Land Farm in Ellicott City, MD is looking for one animal caretaker to join our 84 person strong team. We are located on 4979 Sheppard Lane. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, motivated, and hard-working.

Job Discription

If you like to work with animals this is a good job for you. There are two shifts a day for this job. The first shift you will work is morning chores. For morning chores You and someone else will begin work in the morning. The first step is to check on the freezer to ensure it is running at the right temperature. Next step is to feed/water baby chickens that are kept in brooder rooms. We have four batches of 350 chicks in our brooder rooms. You will give them fresh feed and water. Next step is to give Ducks food, collect their eggs, and let them out. After the Ducks are done you can take care of the Layer chickens. We have four coops with laying hens. You will let the chickens out, fill their feeders, check on their water, and collect their eggs. After these chores are done you will feed/water horses, goats,pigs, and emus. Next you will go off the farm to a nearby field to move meat chicken cages to fresh grass and give the chickens food/water. After everything is completed you will leave the farm and come back in the evening.


Now you will return to the farm at eight in the evening and start evening chores which are similar to morning chores but not as time consuming. These chores also include feeding/watering the animals. You will also stay later and close the doors for the coops when all the animals are back in their enclosure. Evening chores also include plugging in golf carts, closing doors, and checking the freezer.
