Animal Caretaker

We are seeking an Animal Caretaker to join our team! You will be responsible for the overall care and well-being of the pets in our boarding kennel and animal hospital, this position can be up to 40 hours a week, but generally will be about 30. Weekends and holidays required.

Responsibilities:

• Handle general care tasks such as feeding and care of the animals (dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, other small pets)
• Interact with boarding kennel and animal hospital clients and staff in a friendly, caring, and professional manner
• Assist in handling animals for veterinary care as needed
• Keep records of animal feedings, treatments, and other updates
• Walk dogs of a variety of sizes and temperaments
• Maintain a clean and healthy environment
• Hospital cleaning tasks, such as mopping, trash removal, dusting, laundry etc

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in animal care or other related fields
• Passion to help and treat animals
• Ability to interact with animals in a calm, non-threatening manner
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to learn
• Ability to take direction and read and follow exact instructions
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to work independently without supervision
• Ability to walk boisterous, large dogs
• Ability to keep a clean and tidy work environment
• Ability to read and write English
