ABOUT YOU

Santa Cruz Bicycles is searching for a Facility Manager to maintain and further our facility and security standards. You will plan, direct, organize and control all facilities activities and building maintenance, as well as, develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies that achieve a safe, secure, efficient, and cost effective facility.

WHAT DOES YOUR DAY JOB LOOK LIKE?

Property Management

  • Manage and maintain Santa Cruz Bicycles facility to ensure a safe, clean, efficient and professional environment
  • Perform basic repairs/improvements, as well as, troubleshoot solutions to direct facility team members on how to correct problems or follow instructional guides for workplace needs
  • Ensure maintenance schedules for company vehicles, building associated machinery and equipment are kept up to date and work is performed on time and within budget
  • Respond to Help Desk requests for building maintenance and custodial issues in a timely manner
  • Manage building equipment, accessories and furniture purchases. Review and approve orders and recommend alternatives while maintaining furniture and accessory standards and cost effectiveness
  • Develop and manage outsourced maintenance service agreements and delivery to ensure consistent and effective building maintenance
  • Manage relationships with property management personnel, building owner, insurance providers, Fire Marshal and the County of Santa Cruz
  • Manage ongoing changes needed for facility remodels and expansions
  • Plan construction projects, manage architects, contractors, negotiate contracts, document timelines, work with accounting, and communicate regularly to stakeholders
  • Oversee supplier agreements and service contracts associated with services and amenities
  • Maintain and improve Waste Recycling Program while complying with federal, state and local waste and recycling regulations
  • Develop new and evolve existing SOPs and preventative maintenance programs for the properties, equipment and vehicles
  • Manage a small team maintenance employees and act as their mentor to help them achieve meet performance goals in a collaborative environment

Security

  • Manage security systems for the entire facility including access control, video monitoring, and collaborate with IT in regards to software upgrades and installation of additional equipment.
  • Research new and unique ways to maintain building security and loss prevention strategy
  • Develop, document, update, and communicate policies and procedures and schedules to ensure effective and consistent operations, security measures, and SCB’s emergency operations plan

Project Management

  • Manage financial expenditures related to facilities, maintenance and work closely with other departments to develop and control budgetary items
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation via Smartsheet charts or ensuring the contractor has a proper documentation
  • Meet with appropriate parties to clarify specific requirements and delegate responsibilities to others based on project needs and deadlines
  • Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long term goals

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

  • 2+ years of experience in facility management
  • 2+ years of construction project management
  • 2+ years security management which includes system controls/monitoring and software implementation/upgrades
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves on certain projects instead of contracting out, you aren’t afraid to learn the in’s and out’s of all of the systems instead of hiring a specialist
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to effectively interact in a competent and professional demeanor with all levels of management, staff, business partners and customers
  • Ability to make appropriate decisions and meet deadlines
  • Clean DMV driving record, ability to pass a DOT background check and physical
  • Familiarity with C-TPAT certification and maintenance requirements

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend and explain documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English. Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, in English.

SUPERVISORY ROLES: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
