Job Title: Speech Pathology Services

Job Summary: Sanford Federal, Inc. is seeking speech pathology services. The Candidate will be required to perform speech/language therapy for all students referred for evaluation during the course of the contract period.

Duties:

  • Be present during initial placement or multidisciplinary team committee meetings for student.
  • Meet with and advise the special education and classroom teacher in matters regarding the continuous assessment, evaluation and implementation of speech therapy programs for individual students and will meet with individual students on a regular basis to provide suggestions for carryover of therapy strategies into the home when necessary
  • After being provided a copy of the parental permission form for assessment by th school, the Candidate shall:

o Assesses students’ communication skills (e.g., articulation, language fluency,

voice, etc.) for the purpose of determining their speech and language deficits and

developing recommendations

o Consults with teachers, parents, other personnel and/or outside professionals for

the purpose of providing requested information, developing plans for services

and/or making recommendations

o Instruct students for the purpose of implementing goals for re-mediation of

speech and language deficits

o Participate in meetings: IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings for

the purpose of developing plans and/or providing information regarding student’s

functional goals

o Prepare documentation (e.g., evaluations, observations, progress, contacts with

parents, teachers, and outside professionals, etc.) for the purpose of providing

written support, developing recommendations and/or conveying information

o Present information on various topics related to area of professional expertise or

the purpose of communicating information and gaining feedback on treatment

issues

o Research resources and methods (i.e., intervention and treatment techniques,

assessment tools and methods, community resources, etc.) for the purpose of

determining appropriate approach for students’ speech and language services

o Screen students for the purpose of determining and assessment according to laws regarding minority non-discriminatory practices

Qualifications:

  • EDUCATION: Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology
  • # OF YEARS OF DIRECTLY RELATED PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: 5 years of experience, preferably with Native American students
  • CERTIFICATION(S): Certificate of Clinical Competence Speech-Language Pathology (CCCSLP) (preferred)
  • LICENSE(S): State license (License in state where services are to be provided)
