Controls Engineer for Standardization

The Controls Standardization and Documentation Engineer will join a growing team of Engineering and Health & Safety professionals helping our customers reduce their work-related risk to quality, productivity and employee health.

The Controls Standardization and Documentation Engineer will be working with one of Sandalwood's global automotive OEM clients to help with controls standardization and documentation efforts for automotive stamping facilities. Typical tasks will include the development or modification of controls specifications for plant floor equipment and systems. Work will be a mix of remote work (work from home) and onsite work at Sandalwood and client facilities.

Successful candidates will have the following attributes:

• Experience with Siemens controllers, HMI's and related Siemens software.
• Experience with robots, vision systems, and other typical plant floor automation.
• Strong documentation abilities and experience with technical specification development.
• Ability to read, modify and develop technical drawings including for electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to develop and modify PLC logic standards
• Good sense of judgement, analytical and problem solving skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, well-organized, detail oriented.
• Experience in the automotive industry.
• Experience in stamping facilities and familiarity with stamping equipment and automation.

• 3+ years of prior work experience as a controls engineer
• Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or similar academic qualifications
• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• Must have safe and reliable transportation
