Job Description

Under the direction of the Gaming Compliance Supervisor, the Compliance Analyst – Policy & Procedures (Analyst) is responsible for reviewing new and revised Gaming Operation Procedures for compliance with regulatory requirements, process consistency, and appropriate accounting. The Analyst shall evaluate whether procedures demonstrate strong internal controls by ensuring asset protection, risk mitigation, and the generation of appropriate audit trails. The Analyst will work in congruence with other departments to develop, revise, and/or write procedures for approval by the SMTGC.

 

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Research, review and analyze all Gaming Operation policies, procedures, promotions, and game rules for quality and accuracy under strict project deadlines. Effective communicate recommendations for revisions for better clarity, flow, and compliance considerations.
  • Ensure all procedures adhere to regulatory requirements and conform to industry standards.
  • Oversee asset protection and game integrity by maintaining an accurate account of internal processes performed for the purpose of thwarting criminal and fraudulent activities.
  • Facilitate changes to the internal control system across all related departments and tracks work on the new and revised procedures.
  • Develop flowcharts pinpointing key internal controls, weaknesses and adjustments and makes them readily accessible to SMTGC personnel, regulatory agencies and external auditors.
  • Establish and maintain matrices cross referencing internal procedures with the appropriate regulations.
  • Manage and provide notes and correspondence on all procedure projects, events and revisions; provides current status on all open assignments including dates, deadlines and responsibilities.
  • Conduct follow-up analysis to ensure the internal controls are working as designed; successfully implemented in “real world” situations.
  • Generate periodic reports for review by the Executive Director, Gaming Commissioners, and the Sr. Compliance Manager; disclose progress and time-frames of procedures and communicate any issues that may cause delays.
  • Write clear and concise policies and procedures for the SMTGC.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.

 

Education/Experience/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum two (2) year of experience in the regulatory, audit or procedure writing field or a high school graduate/GED with a minimum of four (4) years in the regulatory, audit or procedure writing field; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Visio and Outlook is required.
  • Advanced Internet Research skills required; must be able to conduct Boolean searches, reference research material, and evaluate the credibility of information sources.

 

Certificates/Licenses/Registrations

  • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
  • A qualified candidate/employee must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the company’s insurance carrier
