Are you...Keen to work in a fast-paced environment with children and adults?Highly organized and detail-oriented as well as relationship-centered?An effective communicator and thoughtful listener?A responsible, creative, and flexible administrative assistant ready to support the school in various ways?A compassionate team player and role model?An inclusive community member who sees and appreciates the diverse fabric of our city and community?An engaged and inclusive community member eager to collaborate, partner, and support with families, students, and colleagues?Committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and have a firm grasp of cultural competency skills?Qualifications:Master's degree in school counseling strongly preferred, clinical social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, or related field with emphasis in educationA minimum of 2 years' supervised counseling experienceA minimum of 2 years' direct work in a school environment Knowledge of current principles, techniques, and objectives of school counseling, educational philosophy, and psychology; educational tests and research methodsStrong verbal and written communication skillsResponsibilities:Participate in school-wide initiatives and professional learning opportunities focused on social emotional learning and wellnessParticipate in grade level coffees to provide parents/guardians information and guidance around tools and strategies to support social emotional growth of students from a developmental perspectiveParticipate in Student Support Team process (Division Head, Instructional Coach, Learning Specialists) to review and support student academic and behavioral needsConsult with the division head and teachers regarding student support plans be available for student and family support meetingsCollaborate with colleagues to provide educational, social, behavioral, and group counseling to studentsDesign and co-teach SEL advisory program for grades 5-8 advisoriesFacilitate social groups as needed Participate in grade-level field trips and projects as neededCo-teach health education and life skills curriculum courses in grades 4-8Aid in the support of conflict-resolution, mediation, and decision-making - experience with Restorative Practices preferredProvide 1:1 student counseling and referral for services in consultation with the Division HeadDevelop and implement school-wide, grade-level, group, and individual behavioral support programs DIVISIONALCollaborate with colleagues to provide educational, social, behavioral, and group counseling to students in grades k-8Design and co-teach SEL advisory program for grades 5-8 advisoriesFacilitate social groups and clubs as needed Participate in grade-level field trips and projects as neededCo-teach health education and life skills curriculum courses in grades 5-8Aid in the support of conflict-resolution, mediation, and decision-making Provide 1:1 student counseling and referral for services in consultation with the Division HeadsDevelop and implement school-wide, grade-level, group, and individual behavioral support programs Have a strong desire to work with lower and middle school students.Ready to Join SF Day?SF Day offers excellent benefits and a competitive salary.
