Job Description

 

We are seeking an LPN to join our team! You will be responsible for delivering high quality care to assigned patients.

**Possesses a thorough knowledge of nursing principles. Demonstrates ability to provide quality patient care. Possesses ability to assess patient's needs, e.g. clinical, teaching, mental and spiritual. Must recognize safety issues to self and others and be able to assess and implement use of lifts to lift and move patients in a safe manner . Must be able to function well in stressful situations and have good, creative, problem-solving skills. Strong leadership skills with the ability to prioritize and delegate. Demonstrated commitment to quality, timely, and cost-effective patient care. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills required. Detail attentiveness required. Individual must be self-motivated and willing to self-direct. Ability to simultaneously handle multiple assignments and projects with speed and accuracy. Able to work efficiently and effectively under time constraints.

Samaritan Medical Center was founded in 1881 and has provided the diverse health care needs of the community since that time. Its current service area includes the city of Watertown, Jefferson, Lewis, southern St. Lawrence and northern Oswego counties, all in the northern part of the state of New York. It has evolved from a five-bed hospital to a current 294-bed acute care facility and regional referral center for northern New York. The hospital provides a full array of services including emergency care, medical surgical, critical care, pediatrics, maternity and a 24-hour full service and state of the art emergency department as well as inpatient mental health services.
