Job Description

 

Key Holder – Salt Life

 

The Key Holder is a creative, energetic and confident Salt Life brand ambassador. Under the leadership and guidance of the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager, the Key Holder assumes Supervisory control in the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager absence. The Key Holder assists and partners with store management in executing all daily store operations. They will inspire, motivate and provide leadership in driving sales, outstanding customer service, and maximizing profits by controlling expenses. The Key Holder also supports the store management in recruiting, staffing and developing employees. 

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS

 

Sales and Customer Service

 

·       Understand, support and adaptable to all company policies and procedures

·       Constantly strive to achieve and exceed store and personal sales goals

·       Utilize and manage the use of weekly sales reports to track, analyze and communicate business results, as well as determine strategies to maximize sales

·       Demonstrates high degree of professionalism in communication, attitude and team work with customers, peers and management team

·       Deliver exceptional customer service through taking ownership of the sales floor and handling customers with issues and complaints

·       Manages and assesses performance through consistent feedback and documentation of performance, coaching and creating developmental plans

·       Continuously motivates team to meet and exceed sales and productivity goals; develop lucrative incentives to encourage the team to deliver their best service

·       Hold associates accountable for time and attendance policy

Operations

·       Maintain regular and timely communication with the Store Manager

·       Ensure cash control procedures are properly followed including; all transactions, bank deposits, till funds and petty cash

·       Open and close the store completing all tasks and checklists

·       Maintain safety requirements to ensure safe working and shopping environment

·       Maintain supplies at a consistent and appropriate level while controlling expenses

·       Flexible/available in the event of scheduling, including, nights, weekends, Associate and customer emergencies

 

Inventory Management and Merchandising

·       Process all register/point of sale (POS) transactions accurately and in accordance with company policy

·       Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the merchandise; ensure the team is fluent in all aspects of product knowledge

·       Monitor the movement of all inventory and ensure that staff adheres to all shipping/receiving policies and procedures

·       Ensure presentation of all displays, fixtures and visual areas are reflective of current visual direction

·       Ensure accuracy of store promotions and merchandise markdowns

·       Preparation and execution of physical inventories, ensuring all guiding principles are followed accurately

·       Collaborate with Store Manager to identify marketing opportunities to support sales

·       Ensure the cash wrap is organized, clean and efficiently operating at all times

·       Assist the Store Manager in the preparation and execution of physical inventories, ensuring all guiding principles are followed accurately

Human Resources

·       Under the direction of the Store Manager, recruits, trains, develops, motivates, supervises, and coaches Store Associates

·       Communicate any Associate concerns/issues to the Store Manager as needed

·       Review and process Associate timesheets to verify completeness and accuracy of hours worked and payroll used; ensure payroll is entered timely and in correct manner

·       Assist the Store Manager with shift coverage in the event there are no other employees available to work

·       Ensure personal and Associates image standards are reflective of the Salt Life and adhered to at all time

Loss Prevention

·       Protect the store’s funds, property, and fellow Associates’ property by conforming to and enforcing all loss prevention guiding principles, policies and procedures

·       Assist in training Store Associates on loss prevention guiding principles, policies and procedures.

·       Communicate all loss prevention related concerns or incidents to the Store Manager

·       Ensure Salt Life employees are not abusing Associate discount

 

REQUIREMENTS

·       Must be at least 18 years of age

·       Interest in ocean centric activities

·       High School Diploma required

·       Ability to work store sales floor for extended periods

·       Must pass a background check

·       Able to work flexible schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays

·       Ability to lift at least 30 lbs., carry, push, squat, kneel, twist, turn, reach and bend

·       Must have a positive, outgoing, high energy personality

·       Computer skills to include operation of retail point of sale system
