Job Description

Job Summary

The Actuarial Analyst is responsible for developing and managing systems necessary for the administration of policy issue and maintenance as well as premium calculation.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains insurance rates and premium calculations.
  • Maintains policy management system database
  • Assists in developing new products
  • Performs competitor analysis
  • Conducts feasibility studies to ensure market competitiveness
  • Uses computer assisted calculations to estimate the losses that could be sustained due to a catastrophic event.
  • Uses their knowledge of math and numerical operations to solve monetary or risk management problems
  • Other tasks and projects as may be assigned


  • College degree in a science related field
  • A strong background in mathematics and statistics
  • Familiarity with spreadsheets, databases, statistical analysis programs and programming languages
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
