The incumbent will work within the Defensive Electronic Warfare (EW) Systems Division as a Systems Engineer for the Multi-Spectral Defensive Electronic Warfare Systems Support Activity (MDEWSSA) Integrated Product Team (IPT) at NAVAIR Weapons Division, Point Mugu, CA.
The major responsibilities include the identification of system requirements; provide clear and unambiguous requirements to the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for correction and designs for EW systems such as radars warning receivers, missile warning systems, and countermeasure systems along with the evaluation and analysis of system performance.
Incumbent will be responsible to review and provide input to the OEM Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP) and witnessing the ATP at the OEM facility.
Incumbent will be also be responsible for testing and validating the Operational Flight Program (OFP) and the Mission Data File for the radars warning receivers, missile warning systems, and countermeasure systems.
As part of the test, incumbent will be responsible for the test planning, identifying resources required, and execute the test.
Incumbent will also be required to generate a test report in accordance with the current MDEWSSA IPT processes.
Incumbent will document any defect found during testing using the Defect Management Database.
At the end of each test segment/period, incumbent will be responsible for conducting an Engineering Review Board (ERB).
Responsibilities also include writing and updating intermediate and final technical documents including system requirements and design specifications/documents, white papers, and engineering notes.
The incumbent will participate in project related meetings (milestone reviews, status, design, etc.), and both host and conduct technical meetings and teleconferences.
Must obtain/maintain a DAWIA S&E Level II. Certification must be achieved within a 24-month period, if government must obtain.
Technical degree required; preferred Electrical Engineer, Computer Engineering, and Computer Science
Preferred experience in avionics.
CURRENT OR ACTIVE SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE STRONGLY PREFERRED.
