Budget Analyst

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Budget Analyst to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division (NSWC PHD) In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) mission for Modernization, Installation, and Logistics Services.

The primary task for the Budget Analyst is providing advice and technical assistance in the preparation of annual budgets. He or she measures organizational performance, assesses the effects of various programs and policies on

the budget. The Budget Analyst examine budget estimates or proposals for completeness, accuracy, and conformance with established procedures, regulations, and organizational objectives. He or she may employ cost-benefit analysis to review financial requests, assess program tradeoffs, and explore alternative funding methods. He or she may examine past and current budgets and research economic and financial developments that affect the organization’s spending.

The Budget Analyst develops guidelines and policies governing the formulation and maintenance of budgets. He or she may conduct training sessions for company or government agency personnel regarding new budget procedures.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or accounting

Experience:

3 years of experience in a related field
