Job Description
PURPOSE:

This position is responsible for the development, implementation, and administration of positions in Production and Maintenance for the apprenticeship programs in collaboration with internal department(s) and educational partners, as well as, coordinating the training activities of the apprentices.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Build, support and deliver a talent development strategy that delivers results.
  • Conduct and maintain a training needs assessment to identify key skills and competencies needed to support the business strategy.
  • Develop training framework in cooperation with the internal department(s) and/or school.
  • Support the creation and/or selection of the course outlines, curriculum, and training materials.
  • Conduct training sessions for individuals and groups on the job, train the trainer, and workshops.
  • Develop and analyze learning metrics to indicate success of training.
  • Work cooperatively with internal and external partners to develop and implement recruiting solutions and lead/support recruiting projects, including but not limited to, participation in job fairs, interviews, the selection process, and tours or events.
  • Coordinates communications with candidates, during the interview and hiring process.
  • Maintain open communications with students and team members.
  • Ensure accurate documentation on all candidates, searches, and other recruiting and selection activities, in order to ensure compliance with legal and record retention requirements.
  • Acts as a positive role model for all team members while assuring high standards of personal integrity and responsibility for all apprenticeship program participants.
  • Coordinate routine performance assessments of apprenticeship program participants.
  • Allocate apprentices in response to production demands and training statuses while maintaining compliance with all company policies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Learning & Development, Human Resources, Mechatronics, or a related field of study OR the equivalent combination of education and/or years of relevant working experience.
    • Minimum of three (3) years professional experience in a Learning & Development function, technical role, or a Mechatronics-related field of work.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Proven expertise in talent development and team leadership.
  • Ability to create Learning & Development solutions.
  • Demonstrated skill with classroom facilitation.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Keen ability to interface with all levels of management and associates.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).                      
PREFERRED SKILLS:
  • Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP).
  • Strong knowledge of Maintenance Technology.
  • Experienced in the coordination of apprenticeship program activities.
  • Training Facilitator certification.
