SWCA Environmental Consultants is currently seeking a SeniorEnvironmental Geologist/Hydrogeologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting hydrogeology on mining, oil and gas and water planning projects throughout the U.S..
What you will accomplish
+ Geohydrology and surface water support for surface and underground mining permitting
+ NEPA analysis for mining and oil and gas projects
+ Perform groundwater models
+ Process water management/water balance
+ Groundwater and surface-water contamination
+ Stormwater modeling
+ Remediation/fate transport/plume modeling
+ Hydrogeological studies and groundwater investigations
+ Aquifer injection
+ Groundwater monitor well design and installation
The position is approximately 75% office work and 25% field work on a variety of projects including industrial, state and federal sites. Field activities include logging soil borings, oversight of groundwater monitoring well installations and collecting soil, groundwater, soil vapor, air, surface water and sediment samples as well as documenting field activities. Office activities include analysis and interpretation of analytical results and the preparation of summary reports.
Experience and qualifications for success
+ BS in Geology, Earth Sciences, or related technical field
+ 8 years + environmental experience
+ Must be a self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills
+ Strong computer skills for database work and proficiency in MS Office
+ Flexible to work outside normal business hours as required; may include weekend and nighttime work
