Position: Aeroballistics Experimentation Researcher

Location: Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD (This is an on-site position)

Security Clearance: Active clearance or eligible to obtain; U.S. citizenship required

Salary: $85,000 to $110,000 per year, depending on education and experience

Job Summary for Aeroballistics Experimentation Researcher:

SURVICE Engineering is seeking a Aeroballistics Experimentation Researcher to specialize in the mechanical design, prototyping, and analysis of the flight of high-speed Army munitions in support of our U.S. Army Research Laboratory customer. In this position you will:

a) Design, model, and fabricate prototype hardware to be used in the experimentation of novel high-speed Army munitions. b) Plan, develop and execute experimental programs to assess and quantify aeroballistic phenomena, behaviors, and observations associated with the flight of projectile and missiles. c) Conduct engineering analysis to support weapon concept development, propose hypotheses or provide physics-based explanation of observed behaviors associated with launch and flight.

Minimum Required Education/Qualifications for Aeroballistics Experimentation Researcher:

BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Physical Sciences and 2 years of experience OR MS or PhD and 0 years of experience.
•Knowledge in the use of computer aided design (CAD) with tools such as SolidWorks.
•Experience conducting data analysis with modern tools such as Matlab/Simulink or Python.
•Experience documenting numerical and analytical procedures, methods, results, and conclusions.
