Prominent pump and controls market leading distributor specializing in the sale and service of Fire Pumps, Water Boosters, Sump & Sewage systems, Wastewater/Rainwater Harvesting systems and related control panels has an opportunity for an Account Rep to join their Municipal/Industrial sales team to work with consulting engineers, municipalities, industrial accounts and contractors selling and specifying our municipal/industrial pumps and pumping systems for both clean and waste water applications including control panels for Submersible Pumps, Submersible Turbine Pumps, Dry-pit Submersible Pumps, Packaged Lift Stations, Chemical Dosing/Water Filtration Pumps and Axial and mixed flow pumps. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of inside or outside direct selling experience with engineered products (no commodities) in either the municipal, industrial or commercial building trades markets, calling on contractors, end users and engineers. Priority consideration will be given to those with experience working with consulting engineers, making guided product selections, writing product specifications and recommendations. CAD experience is a plus but not required. The successful team member will employ a working knowledge of pumps, motors or controls as well as strong written and verbal communications skills to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects with the backing of an inside support team. Your proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of products, including Outlook and Excel will help ensure your success. The responsibilities and territories include the account management for municipalities, industrial accounts, consulting engineers and contractors concentrated in Washington DC and the counties immediately surrounding Washington DC; promoting, marketing and selling all company products and services; working with inside sales staff and management team to enhance and grow the municipal/industrial business and market share; attending municipal project meetings; working with the inside estimating department to select pumps, controllers & accessories for quotation/bid packages; working with inside staff to develop submittals, O&Ms and training packages; developing and maintaining relationship with utility contractors, land planners, consulting engineers, municipalities and industrial accounts; conducting “lunch and learn” seminars for consulting engineers, municipalities & ownership groups; developing Engineer “equipment budgets” to include product selections and specifications; attending & assisting with equipment start-ups; and joining and participating in local industry associations and trade shows.
