Server Backend Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer

Our solutions team is hiring for our global media client's streaming video testing efforts, we're seeking a Server Backend Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer that will be focused on testing backend streaming video architecture and streaming APIs. You should be hands-on and comfortable in an Agile environment and will be responsible for automated testing data connections, APIs, data quality and scripting for automated testing of data features and products. You will be testing data-focused parameters connected to video streaming architecture and creating acceptance criterion across a variety of metrics. Testing will be done within a modern CICD pipeline using TDD best practices. Server Backend SQA Engineer Responsibilities:

• You'll be working with the frontend team to lead test efforts of features being developed for devices that include smart TVs, game consoles and set top boxes. This position requires an individual who is creative, team-oriented, technology savvy and driven to produce results. Your responsibilities include but not limited to those outlined below.
• Will be responsible for backend architecture
• Will be working with server release feature testing, software deployment, system monitoring
• Will be workign with multi-tier architecture configuration and deployments

Required/Technical Skills

• Must have at least 7+ years of QA experience in a commercial software/Internet company, with unit testing, regression and system testing implementing sound methodologies and plans
• Experience with multi-tier architecture with scalability, performance
• Experience in testing back end e-commerce applications is a big plus
• Experience in writing PL/SQL, Shell, Python or Perl scripts to automate testing tasks
• Experience using MySQL or Postgres databases
• Experience in developing tools/scripts to aid in testing client/server and Web applications
• Skills in Unix required
• Knowledge of XML, Java Script, Java, Python and HTML required
• Complete and thorough knowledge of the SDLC and testing methodologies
• Experience in at least one computer programming or test language
• Working knowledge of relational databases

Physical Requirements

• Must be flexible to periodically participate in after-hours release testing

"Nice to have" Skills

• Top 25 Computer Science school or graduated with honors
• Start-up experience and can-do attitude
• Experience testing Ad exchanges; SSP, DSP, OpenRTB, targeting or Ad fulfillment is a plus
• Experience working with Big-Data; Hadoop, Spark and data message queues

The US base range for this contract position is $50-80/hour. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
