Weekend Shift MIG Welder (Friday - Sunday 6:00 am to 6:45 pm)

The schedule for this shift is Friday, Saturday and Sunday 6:00 am to 6:45 pm. You will work 36 hours and be compensated for 40 hours. In order to receive the additional 4 hours of compensation, you must work the scheduled hours.

Job Summary: Welds metal parts as specified by layout, welding diagrams or work order.

• Positions parts in jigs or fixtures on bench or floor, or clamps parts together along layout marks
• Lays out, positions and tack welds workpiece
• Welds part or subassemblies according to blueprints, diagrams or written/verbal instructions
• Applies flux to workpeice instead of filler rod
• Welds along vertical or overhead weld lines
• Scarfs or grooves weld prior to applying filler metal
• Examines weld for bead size and other specifications
• Chips or grinds off excess weld, slag, or spatter
• Cleans or degreases parts

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED (General Education Degree)
• One to two years of education or training
• Minimum of 2 years of on-the-job work experience

Physical Demands:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly stand, walk, and reach with hands/arms
• Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
• Frequently required to lift and/or push/pull up to 50 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required by this job are close vision and color vision
