Job Description

The Zone Lead is responsible for providing direction, instruction and guidance to a team of merchandisers. The Zone Lead will oversee multiple client projects at any given time. They are responsible for tracking progress and deadlines to ensure timely completion of work initiatives in order to meet client expectations. To achieve this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties satisfactorily. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Travel to meet and work with McKesson RSMs to ensure account level execution is meeting McKesson standards.

Direct oversight of Retail Merchandisers to ensure they are meeting client expectations.

Responsible for managing other program costs/budgets put in place by Division Manager to include DM travel, office costs, and QCS costs.

Responsible for carrying our major assignments in conducting business operations for the company, which include:

Direct oversight and staffing of Retail Merchandisers to ensure they are meeting client expectations.

Tracking progress.

Following up on late completions to ensure we are completing client projects.

Weekly scheduling of several projects.

Oversee timely completion of work initiatives in order to meet client expectations.

Must be capable of positively leading the field group; and administering company policies, procedures and process.

Responsible for recruiting new merchandisers, which include:

Communicating client objectives to all merchandisers.

Providing job/contract opportunities to merchandisers.

 

 

Negotiate and managing hourly rate cost to merchandisers within company and district goals.

Managing travel (access) cost to within company and district goals.

Responsible for providing quality assurance via live or phone audits on behalf of our clients.

Required to plan short-term and long-term business objectives/district needs pertaining current workload, upcoming workloads, and number of merchandisers required.

Required to investigate and resolve matters of significance on behalf of management in relation to merchandiser issues that directly affect services at client locations (i.e. falsification, theft, etc.)

Must be capable of facing and rectifying challenges, meet expectations in work completions, use independent judgment, and exercise discretion as needed.

Work closely with management and provide expert advice on field conditions that require management to make changes to internal web tools for field use.

Works closely with Client Services to ensure they have a complete understanding of all client projects.

Responsible for working with and following up on Merchandisers to ensure they are meeting client expectations of service.

Responsible for assuring all jobs and all stores are staffed with experienced merchandisers.

Responsible for continual development and protection of all retail account relationships.

Must be flexible in a changing environment which includes territory changes.

 

ADDITIONAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OR EXPERIENCE

Must have grocery, mass or drug store experience.

Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with client, employees and management.

Must be capable of facing challenges and meeting expectations in work completions, recruiting and expense control.

Must have good "people skills."

Travel up to 50-60% within district.

Work from in-home office (Company provides computer, fax and supplies).

Must be capable of facing challenges and meeting expectations in work completions, use independent judgment and exercise discretion as needed.

 

EDUCATION: This position requires minimum education of High School Diploma or equivalent*.

*Asterisk indicates that equivalent is allowed 3

 

EXPERIENCE: This position requires a minimum of 1 year experience. Experience in drugstore merchandising is preferred.

COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of and active access to computers, including the Internet, e-mail, and competent with Microsoft applications.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position does have supervisory responsibilities. Those who manage others are expected to have the ability to lead one or a team of individuals to achieve department goals.
