SOS International, LLC (SOSi) is currently seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join our team in Yokota AB, Japan. This customer is based out of Hawaii who creates network infrastructure designs for USINDOPACOM services. Our designs are secure, reliable, and resilient and support the USINDOPACOMs mission and its 5000+ customers throughout the Pacific theater. Our team solves challenging technical problems with architecturally unique solutions that enable USINDOPACOM to realize critical C2 strategies. The team develops systems to ensure that every segment of our enterprise infrastructure is healthy and manageable and is robust enough to connect hundreds of cutting-edge embedded systems theater-wide. We are seeking experienced engineers to help us deliver our private cloud platform to the warfighter, to include this System Engineer position at Yokota AB.


This is a fast-paced, intellectually challenging position that demands high standards. As a senior member of this team, you will Engineer Command and Control IT solutions in support of USINDOPACOM, related component commands, mission partners and relevant operational objectives.

The selected candidate for this position should be well-versed in Department of Defense (DoD) protocols, procedures, and regulations, to include Government Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) mandates. The position is expected to regularly interact with senior DoD personnel, communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and to prepare and deliver executive-level briefings/IPRs to interested parties as required.

Principal Duties
  • Participate in technical working groups for assessment, design, and roadmap development for the implementation of ZTA solutions.
  • Contribute, provide technical recommendations, and attend briefings or information sharing forums, with INDOPACOM and MPE leadership, in support of ZTA initiatives and new capabilities.
  • Interact with vendors, other agencies, and Coalition Partners on behalf of the program.
  • Train and mentor Tier-2 personnel in administration principles and best practices
  • Oversee systems operations & maintenance of enterprise-wide systems to ensure scalability and accessibility of applications or services
  • Participate in and/or lead major server installations and upgrades
  • Develop and implement systems testing strategies and document results
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant hardware and software applications as assigned
  • Maintain integrity and security of systems and associated hardware
  • Maintain technical documentation and diagrams
  • Monitor overall systems health and troubleshoot reported events


  • Active in-scope TS/SCI security clearance is required.
  • MCP or Linux/Red Hat Certification
  • Thorough understanding of Executive Order 14028, OMB Mandate M-22-09, and ZTA related CISA and DOD supporting documents.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent years of related experience
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience directly related to Systems Administration/Engineering on DoD networks to include:
    • Nutanix & VMware Virtualized Data Centers
    • Citrix & VMware VDI
    • Microsoft Windows Server and Linux based OSs
    • DoD STIGs
  • An IAT Level II certification (CCNA-Security, CND, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, or SSCP) or higher is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Information Technology or related discipline
  • Familiarity with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure technologies
  • Familiarity with Hyperconverged Infrastructure (Nutanix preferred)
  • Familiarity with Forcepoint TTC or Secureview
  • MCP DevOps Engineer, MCP Solutions Architect, or RHCA/RHCE
  • ITIL Foundation Level certification
  • Experience in data center systems in both physical and virtualized environments

Working Conditions

  • Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
  • Hybrid schedules may be authorized on case-by-case basis.
  • Fast paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • May require additional foreign travel outside of Japan.
  • May require periods of non-traditional working hours including consecutive nights or weekends (if applicable)
