Reports To:                  Director of Sales

Summary:   Responsible for functional management and leadership of sales at designated accounts using business management, trade management, and sales planning skills while meeting or exceeding budgets and working with other functional groups to execute specific sales, marketing and merchandising objectives.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead effective collaboration with all customer constituencies (internal and external) to establish clearly defined strategic objectives that drive results
  • Develop business plans using established and creative tactics to achieve the strategic objectives
  • Execute the plans to achieve the strategic objectives
  • Develop and maintain superior business relationships with key decision makers at customers and our manufacturer partners
  • Maintain a perpetually thorough and contemporary understanding of account’s business and operational strategies and processes
  • Responsible for overseeing the strategies and processes to ensure distribution and negotiated pricing and promotion for the client is being executed
  • Provides timely follow-up to client with regards to the negotiated contract terms with product from point of sale through point of execution
  • Conduct sales presentations
  • Conduct joint business planning reviews with customers with progress of mutually agreed upon objectives, KPI’s and scorecards
  • Responsible for accurate and timely sales forecasting and communication
  • Understand and utilize syndicated and other data sources
  • Purposefully participate in trade events

Experience and Requirements

  • Thorough understanding of diverse business process and strategy development
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, databases and information systems
  • BS/BA in Business Management or relevant field: MS/MA would be a plus
  • Valid Driver’s License Required

The physical requirement of this position is primarily light work.  Light work requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. 

 

Visual acuity requirements are as follows:  the employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading.

Work Environment

The employee is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work).
