Currently seeking a Project Manager for a Residential
General Contractor servicing the New Jersey
and New York City area, working on residential and commercial construction. The primary role of this position will be to coordinate subcontractors/vendors on projects and communicate with clients and Insurance companies. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years’ experience in the commercial construction design/build industry. A very strong knowledge of industry methods and procedures is a must. Successful candidates in this role continually display excellent presentation and written/verbal communication skills, are flexible during times of change and possess the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. The ideal candidate will possess excellent time management and organizational skills as well as some sales & marketing skills. Qualifications· The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Administration, or equivalent related work experience· 5-10 years project management experience working on residential, commercial and/or ground up projects· Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook· Excellent communication skills required· Must be a team player and work well with others· Candidates must possess a strong work ethic· Attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies Responsibilities· Direct responsibility for assigned projects, guiding jobs and project teams in each phase including pre-construction, planning, construction, closeout, and post-construction services· Maintain a big picture view of strategy, risk assessment, and profitability and continuously communicate this view throughout the life of the project· Oversee budget and management of all project documentation, review daily requirements of the projects, document progress and notify managers of progress and challenges· Identify and focus on critical issues related to constructability including associated costs and logistical issues· Subcontractor management, ensure that jobs are completed according to schedule and meet profit goals· Must continually advance their knowledge of current and past construction practices· Should be available for some night and weekend work as requested and travel occasionally· Report time worked and equipment and consumables used timely and accurately· Develop, nurture, and maintain ongoing client, architect, subcontractor, and industry at the appropriate level reinforcing commitment to continue addressing their needs and interests· Project reporting and regular communication with project staff, design team, and customer Benefits Package: Health • Sick Day Pay • Holiday pay • Vacation Pay • Employer supplied uniforms • Career progression • Professional development Physical and Work Environment Requirements: Walking and/or standing throughout the day. Frequent driving and sitting. Occasionally climbing ladders. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme conditions such as heat. The noise level in the work environment and jobsites can be loud. Normal Working Hours, Additional Working Hours, and Travel Requirements: This is a full-time position, working 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., Monday–Friday, 45 hours per week. Travel is required and is primarily local. However, some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected. Pay Rate: Commensurate with experience and responsibilities, with the possibility of bonus pay and increases based on merit.
