SERV, a well-established leader in behavioral healthcare in New Jersey, supports people with mental illness and/or intellectual/developmental disabilities as they achieve greater independence and life satisfaction through a wide range of services.

We are currently seeking an experienced Director of Outpatient Services responsible for daily clinical services and operations for the Child & Family and Adult outpatient services, general outpatient counseling, Healthy Transitions, substance abuse services, and clinical groups. Build a positive and professional work environment that emphasizes accountability, and integrity, and fosters the SERV Behavioral Health System’s mission, vision, and core values.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrates knowledge of Division of Mental Health Services (DMHS) regulations, Division of Youth and Family Services (DYFS) regulations, Division of Development Disabilities (DDD), Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) regulations and circulars, DMHAS regulations
  • Ensures SERV compliance with DMHS, DYFS, DDD, and DVR regulations and Circulars regarding services.
  • Ensures compliance with accrediting bodies and funding sources.
  • Ensures all employee pieces of training required by licensing body and funding sources are completed in specified time frames.
  • Liaison with local psychiatric, educational resources, and governmental agencies.
  • Ensure daily operations of daily psychosocial programming & oversee daily operations of off-site vocational/educational placements.
  • Develop and maintain community volunteer, educational, and employment placements for consumers.
  • Assists in the design and implementation of clinical, behavioral, vocational, and educational programs & provide job coaching to identify employed consumers.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Division of Mental Health Services (DMHS) regulations, Division of Youth and Family Services (DYFS) regulations, and Division of Development Disabilities (DDD), Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) regulations and circulars, DMHAS regulations.
  • Ensures SERV compliance with DMHS, DYFS, DDD, and DVR regulations and Circulars regarding services also compliance with accrediting bodies and funding sources.
  • Teaches personal safety and community awareness skills to clients by actively engaging them in maintaining the safety of themselves, their roommates, and the facility.
  • Oversees completion and/or follow-up of safety inspections according to policy and procedure.
  • Oversees completion and/or follow-up of Environmental Surveillance Reports according to policy and procedure.
  • Knowledge of regulations of accrediting bodies and funding sources. Knowledge of SERV BHS policies and procedures. Ability to research, develop and facilitate clinical/behavioral/vocational/educational services.
  • The coordinator must have experience facilitating behavioral-oriented vocational/educational programs.
  • Good administrative, supervisory, and communication skills are required. Good organizational skills. Computer literacy is required.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in Healthcare Administration or related degree; plus, five years.
  • Progressive experience in the healthcare setting including at least 3 years of practice management and supervisory experience.
  • 2 years experience in substance abuse supervisory.

 

LICENSE REQUIREMENT:

  • LCSW, LPC or LCADC
