Sales Associate

Description of Duties:

• Greet customers with a positive and helpful attitude. Excellent customer service is our goal. Electronic equipment is not allowed on the sales floor without permission from the manager.
• Ascertain customer’s wants/needs. Ensure that customers receive excellent service.
• Be familiar with merchandise and be able to answer questions honestly and thoroughly.
• Maintain inventory and other records related to sales (i.e. sales receipts, delivery forms).
• Stay updated on sales promotions and store policies on payment, exchanges, security practices, etc.
• Recognize security risks and thefts and handle situations appropriately.
• Clean/dust all furniture, shelves, accessories and other items in the showroom.
• Assist with merchandising vignettes and keep inventory circulating to keep floor looking fresh so that returning customers see a new perspective on each visit.
• Make sure that all inventory items are marked, tagged or priced appropriately.
• Compute sales prices, process cash and operate credit card machine.
• Keep copier, printer and other machines filled with paper and toner.
• Bag, package, wrap purchases as necessary.
• Adhere to an agreed upon schedule as arranged between employee and manager to assure that the store will be adequately staffed during store hours, including Saturdays.
• Any extra projects as assigned.
• Answer phones. Take messages for other furniture employees, help keep employee common areas tidy, and other housekeeping duties to keep showroom looking neat and clean.
