SAIC is seeking an Embedded Software and Digital Thread Developer to join our energized Engineering Innovation Factory Team of solution architects, digital engineers, and software developers to define and build the Digital Engineering Ecosystem, a packaged digital thread solution that fuels the Digital Engineering Transformation across our entire industry. Our work creating digital ecosystems span an exciting variety of programs, customers and corporate initiatives requiring Digital Engineering and Model Based Enterprise applications and infrastructure deployed in Defense, Federal Civilian, and/or National Security environments. This job may be performed remotely anywhere within the U.S. for the right candidate.

As part of our Engineering Innovation Factory Team, you will be responsible for prototyping, architecting, and deploying new Digital Engineering solutions for our internal and external customers to include both cloud-based and on-prem solutions across multiple security domains. You will engage with other digital engineering subject matter experts and foster broader understanding of the Digital Engineering ecosystem to assist them in developing digital work products and connecting them to the Digital Ecosystem. You will also be required to engage with the larger community (Industry, Government, and Academia) to stay up to date with latest trends and emerging technologies, approaches, methods, and techniques to further mature and or increase our digital engineering capabilities, and to mentor others on our solutions and standards.
Your near-term objectives include modernizing hard real-time embedded software development practices by integrating key partner technologies into modern DevSecOps platforms, generating best practices for embedded software development, test, evaluation, and deployment, as well as connecting software development artifacts with upstream and downstream engineering domains within the Digital Thread.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop a proficiency in digital engineering practices with the EIF. The EIF seeks to connect all digital artifacts across the product lifecycle through our digital thread platform hosted within our digital engineering ecosystem, Ready One (https://readyone.net).
  • Develop a proficiency in embedded system software development using next generation DevOps tools such as Wind River Studio, PlatformIO, and Synopsys Silver and facilitate integration of these systems into Ready One.
  • Develop program specific approaches to model-in-the-loop, software-in-the-loop, and hardware-in-the-loop integration and verification processes and reporting mechanisms.
  • Apply knowledge and expertise in all phases of the development / deployment cycle across various programs executing within SAIC.
Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • BS in EE, ME, CS or related field with a minimum of 2 years of development experience in embedded systems or MS in EE, ME, CS or related field. An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience in software development aspects of embedded systems (shaping requirements (functional and non-functional), allocation of system functions software elements of the design, software architecture development, software development, and software test, verification, and validation mechanisms).
  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Coupling software emulation with models (such as Simulink) for early and continuous V&V of software using co-simulation techniques, otherwise known as model in the loop and software in the loop test environments.
  • Demonstrated history of a hands-on approach to problem solving and incremental integration practices.
  • Controls engineering experience and the ability to model dynamical systems in environments such as Simulink is a plus.
  • Experience troubleshooting at the system level (familiarity with real-time distributed networks (1553, CAN, ARINC-429, etc...).
