The Safer Foundation is a social service provider to individuals with arrest and conviction records. Through a full range of services, including case management, educational instruction and advocacy, we focus on preparing individuals for the world of work by helping them find and keep productive and meaningful employment.
Safer Foundation's strategy and innovation team is seeking an experienced and results-focused Social Media Coordinator to drive the creation and implementation of innovative, data-driven digital marketing programs.
General Summary:
The Social Media Coordinator will work closely with the marketing communication team to develop original content and suggest creative ways to work towards the organization's goal of being a thought leader in the reentry space (promote our brand), raise awareness of the services and programs available to people with arrest and conviction records (support recruitment efforts), and invite employer and community partners to join our mission (support outreach efforts). Ultimately, you should be able to increase web traffic and key stakeholder engagement metrics aligned with broader marketing strategies. This position reports to the Director of Marketing & Communications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Stakeholder Interface and Service
- Develop annual social media plan and content calendar
- Create engaging branded text, image, and video content
- Design posts to sustain readers' curiosity and create buzz around new products
- Stay up to date with changes in all social platforms ensuring maximum effectiveness
- Oversee social media accounts
- Actively supporting the marketing and communications director with duties
- All materials for external consumption are accurate, consistent in format, design, content and are professionally presented with the organization's brand standards.
- The organization's major events are planned, executed and meet stated event objectives.
- Organization's social media strategy is executed as planned and the metric meets strategic goals.
Stakeholder Outreach and Recruitment
- Train co-workers to use social media in a cohesive and beneficial way
- Facilitate online conversations with customers and respond to queries
- Develop an optimal posting schedule, considering web traffic and customer engagement metrics
- Suggest new ways to attract prospective clients, like promotions and competitions (Identify opportunities to enhance prospective client's experience through digital campaigns, promotions, competitions, and communications)
- Solid support given to planning and executing the marketing/communications plan.
- Healthy vendor relationships are established and maintained
Tracking, Document, and Reporting
- Research audience preferences and discover current trends (recommend creative and innovative digital campaign tactics based on data and insights)
- Measure web traffic and monitor SEO
- Report on online reviews and feedback.
- Templates and guides are up-to-date and readily available for dissemination to appropriate audiences.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent time management skills - with high level attention to detail and follow-through
- Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Outgoing personality with strong interpersonal and social abilities
- Familiarity with social media, social networking, and email marketing
- Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Project planning and management and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (365) is required
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop and Adobe Premiere)
- Digital photography and video editing experience
- Expertise in multiple social media platforms
- In-depth knowledge of SEO, keyword research and Google Analytics
- Ability to create and deliver creative content (text, image, and video, using WordPress, Photoshop, InDesign, Canva and similar tools)
- Familiarity with online marketing strategies and marketing channels (HubSpot, MailChimp, Sprout Social)
- Ability to gasp future trends in digital technologies and act proactively
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong copywriting and proofreading skills
- Multitasking and analytical skills (Ability to prioritize projects, work within short time frames and meet deadlines)
Education and Experience:
- Associate or bachelor's degree in marketing, business or a related field required.
- 1-3 years of social media management and digital communication experience required.
- Nonprofit and/or advertising experience preferred
